Hear Katie’s inspiring message of encouragement and hope
Katie began raising money to buy Christmas presents for sick children in 2007 at the age of six, and she has just finished her third Christmas as Katie Claus, an honorary title given to her by a writer from The Charlotte Observer. In 2009, Katie raised well over $11,000 and provided gifts for children in six area hospitals, including Hemby Children’s Hospital, Levine Children’s Hospital , and Mission Children’s Hospital in Asheville.
Katie has spoken to numberous church congregations, civic and school groups on behalf of her Kidz, and she has been featured four times on television. In addition, she has been the subject of a score of newspaper and magazine articles and many radio interviews. She has been called “the little girl with a big heart”, but she would rather just be known as Katie.
